What it is

Resurfacing, dialed to your skin.

A CO₂ laser works by removing microscopic columns of damaged skin and heating the tissue around them. Your body fills those columns with new collagen. The old generation of CO₂ lasers did this in one aggressive setting, which is where resurfacing got its reputation for two weeks of hiding indoors.

The Helix changes the calculation. The same laser runs three different protocols, so the depth is a decision we make together rather than something the machine imposes. You choose how much downtime you can give it, and we build the plan from there.

Pairs well with microneedling between sessions and with medical-grade skincare to protect the result.

Good to know.

Which of the three is right for me?

It comes down to how much downtime you can give it. CoolPeel is the one you can have on a Thursday and be fine for the weekend. Deka Fusion asks for about a week but does the most in a single visit. Fusion sits between them. Marissa looks at your skin and your calendar before recommending a setting.

Does it hurt?

CoolPeel usually feels like warmth or tingling and rarely needs numbing. Fusion and Deka Fusion are done under topical anesthetic with cooling air, and most patients describe them as hot and prickly rather than sharp.

How soon will I see a change?

CoolPeel gives immediate freshness and keeps improving as collagen turns over. Fusion is usually noticeably smoother within one to two weeks. Deka Fusion builds over months — collagen remodeling continues for up to six months after a single treatment.

Can I have it if I tan easily or have deeper skin?

CO₂ resurfacing carries a pigmentation risk that varies with skin tone and recent sun exposure. Bring that up at your consult — Marissa will assess your skin type, may recommend priming your skin beforehand, and will tell you honestly if a different treatment is the safer choice.

What is the aftercare?

Keep the skin clean, moist, and out of the sun. You will get a written protocol and product recommendations at your visit, and we schedule a check-in as the skin heals.

When is the best time of year to do this?

Fall through spring is easier in South Florida, simply because sun avoidance is a real part of healing well. CoolPeel is the most forgiving year-round option.
