Botox charting

Why does my Botox look different each time?

Updated November 2026

Usually because something changed: the units, where they went, the product, or the person injecting. Detailed charting removes the guesswork. At ProMD Health Fort Lauderdale, every treatment records each injection point and its units on a map of your face, so your next visit starts from what worked, not from memory.

Your chart

What we record at every visit.

  1. 1Product and lot number (Botox, Dysport or Daxxify)
  2. 2How the product was mixed (dilution)
  3. 3Each injection point on a face map, with units per point
  4. 4Photos at rest and in motion: same room, same light, same angles
  5. 5Your goals in your own words, like “softer, not frozen”
  6. 6What we saw at your 2-week check-in, and anything added

Why results vary from visit to visit.

Small changes add up. Two units moved half a centimeter can change how a brow sits. Switching products changes the unit math, since Dysport units don't convert one-to-one with Botox. Without a record, each visit is a fresh estimate, and fresh estimates drift.

How your chart changes your next treatment.

Your 2-week check-in is where charting pays off. If we added a few units to your crow's feet last time, that becomes your new starting dose, so each visit gets closer to the result you want.

If you switch injectors

Because the map holds the details, any provider at ProMD can pick up where the last one left off. If you're coming from another practice, bring your records and we'll start from them.

Can I get a copy of my injection map?

Yes. It's part of your medical record, and you can request it any time. Many patients keep a copy for travel or for a second location.

Safety

Lot numbers let us trace exactly which vial you received if a manufacturer ever issues a notice. Dosing history also helps flag if you're receiving more than you need over time.
